Thank you, thank you, thank you for making Cloth + Karma’s launch so successful and exciting! I appreciate your support in any and every capacity more than you know. Knowing that we are all doing some GOOD in this world by way of Cloth + Karma’s mission is so rewarding.
In celebration of our launch, I’d like to go behind-the-scenes with one of our charitable partners, theSPCA of Westchester. It’s a nonprofit that’s so much more than close to my heart - it’s IN my heart! My two fur babies, Gus and Henry as pictured above, are rescue dogs whom I adopted from the SPCA of Westchester.
The SPCA of Westchester is a no-kill, not-for-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to saving homeless, abused and abandoned animals and to protecting them from cruelty and neglect through education and enforcement of humane laws. This is only possible because of kind gifts from people like us! Founded in 1883 in Briarcliff Manor, the SPCA is the only shelter in Westchester County empowered to enforce animal cruelty laws. Other community programs include a low-cost veterinary clinic, humane education, reading to dogs and pet therapy. The SPCA of Westchester does not receive funding from county or federal agencies and is not affiliated with the ASPCA.
My love for dogs prompted me to design two of my best-selling tees to date: ‘Weekends, Wet Noses, Wagging Tails’ and ‘I Love My Dog’. In my opinion, the beauty of C+K lies in the fact that we raise money for serious causes through fun, whimsical apparel and jewelry. We empower our Karma Crew by letting them choose which charity they’d like to support at checkout and encourage them (and whoever reads their shirt!) tobe the change in the world!
